We are Fionnathan.

Thank you for your interest in participating in a unique project in Citizenship and Entrepreneurship.

In 2024, we ran Creative Approaches to Practical Community Advocacy, or CAPCA, to teach citizenship skills and provide opportunities for active community leadership by more than 20 people with Down syndrome and their supporters.

We are recruiting participants now, for a new fully funded journey, From CAPCA to Abundance, to run from this September through next March.

We are inviting teams made up of an adult with Down syndrome and their chosen supporter.

We are recruiting primarily in the Galway area, though you can apply from anywhere in Ireland.

The form below this video should be completed by a team committing to work together on all steps of this journey. Placement on the project will be confirmed within two weeks of applying.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact us by email fionnathan.productions@gmail.com

Support person
We know that lives are busy. If you need to share supporting between two supporters, it will be your responsibility to keep both informed as we move through the process.

If there's a second support person, please enter name and email, and any other comments.
The CAPCA portion of the project meets on Thursdays starting in mid September. The first two months we’ll meet online from 6.30 - 8.00 pm. There will be an eLearning assignment each week, which should take you an hour or less.

Then we'll have two in-person meet-ups, in Galway near the end of October. These will be our Craft Making Events, with a meal included, and some special surprises. Each team will lead a project they have prepared. This community leadership experience is an essential part of the course, and we ask everyone to attend both sessions.

When you submit this application, you are telling us the both of you plan to attend all of these meetings.

Please comment below if you have questions or reservations. Otherwise leave blank.
We will run a Craft Store in Galway in November and December. You will have a significant retail apprenticeship in this time. This might be a stall at the Eyre Square Christmas Market. Or you may run a pop-up shop as part of a Christmas Fair in your neighbourhood.

During these two months, you'll have personal guidance to bring into focus your vision of an ideal enterprise. Your ideas will weave together with others, to create larger teams working together to create business pilots.

These pilot projects are trial versions of businesses. There is no expectation that they will become actual real-life businesses, but this ‘practicing’ will give us the skills and confidence to potentially launch real start-ups.

When you submit this application, you are telling us that you both plan to participate fully in these actions.

Please comment below if you have questions or reservations. Otherwise, leave blank.
From early January we will again meet online Thursday evenings through March. On alternating weeks, the entire project group or the smaller teams will meet. There will be homework between meetings.

As well as creating a business plan, each team will be supported to record to camera your business story, telling about yourselves and your pilot project. This will be filmed at a time and place convenient to each team.

When you submit this application, you are telling us the both of you plan to attend all of these meetings.

Please comment below if you have questions or reservations. Otherwise leave blank.
To promote and share about this exciting project, we will document the journey, through pictures and videos of the work we do together, to share online. We ask you to agree to having your name linked to photos and videos in these posts.

I understand that images on websites and printed material can be viewed throughout the world and not just in Ireland and that some overseas countries may not provide the same level of protection to the rights of individuals as EU/Irish legislation provides.

Please write "We agree" below, and / or comment if you have questions or reservations.
The project will end at an Accelerator event in Galway on or near World Down Syndrome Day (March 21st), where each team will present their ideas to business experts, investors, mentors, friends and family. We’ll have funding to prepare product prototypes and promotional materials.

When you submit this application, you are telling us the both of you plan to attend and help present at this event.

Please comment below if you have questions or reservations. Otherwise leave blank.
During the training we are communicating using WhatsApp. That way you can get support from our team and from your peers. Are you able to join?
I agree that my data will be gathered during the project according to the Fionnathan Productions General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Policy.

If you have any questions related with the project or this registration questionnaire, please do not hesitate to contact us by email fionnathan.productions@gmail.com.

Looking forward to meeting you soon!
