We are Fionnathan.

Thank you for your interest in participating in a unique project in Citizenship and Entrepreneurship.

In 2024, we ran Creative Approaches to Practical Community Advocacy, or CAPCA, to teach citizenship skills and provide opportunities for active community leadership by more than 20 people with Down syndrome and their supporters.

We are recruiting participants now, for a new fully funded journey, From CAPCA to Abundance, to run from this September through next March.

We are inviting teams made up of an adult with Down syndrome and their chosen supporter.

We are recruiting primarily in the Galway area, though you can apply from anywhere in Ireland.

The form below this video should be completed by a team committing to work together on all steps of this journey. Placement on the project will be confirmed within two weeks of applying.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact us by email fionnathan.productions@gmail.com

We know that lives are busy. If you need to share supporting between two supporters, it will be your responsibility to keep both informed as we move through the process.

If there's a second support person, please enter name and email, and any other comments.
The CAPCA portion of the project meets on Thursdays throughout September.  We’ll meet online from 6.30 - 8.00 pm (Irish time). You have the opportunity to complete a Citizenship Training eLearning module. This weekly assignment should take you an hour or less.

We'll have an Art Retreat in Galway on October 25th and 26th. This will include Craft Making led by Abundance Teams with meals included and some special surprises. The bounty of crafts we produce will serve as our stock for the Christmas Craft Fairs around the country, through which you have the opportunity to complete a retail apprenticeship.

Please comment below if you have questions or reservations. Otherwise leave blank.
After completing the CAPCA course Teams will have guidance to bring into focus their vision of an ideal enterprise. Your ideas will weave together with others, to create Groups working to create business pilot projects in the New Year.

These pilot projects are trial versions of businesses. These are not designed to become actual real-life businesses, but this ‘practicing’ will give us the skills and confidence to potentially launch real start-ups. We’ll have funding to prepare product prototypes and promotional materials.

Please comment below if you have questions or reservations. Otherwise, leave blank.
From early January we will again meet online Thursday evenings through March. On alternating weeks everyone who wishes will meet to discuss ideas for making ourselves and our community to become wealthier in many ways. Connectedness, skills, shared resources and personal income. We will do this fortnightly (every second Thursday).

Please comment below if you have questions or reservations. Otherwise leave blank.
This will provide time for the Groups to create a Business Pilot Project.

As well as creating a business plan, each Group will be supported to record to camera your business story, telling about yourselves and your pilot project. This will be filmed at a time and place convenient to each Group.

The project will end at an important event in Galway on March 20th 2026, where each Group will present their ideas to business experts, investors, mentors, friends and family.

Please comment below if you have questions or reservations. Otherwise leave blank.
To promote and share about this exciting project, we will document the journey, through pictures and videos of the work we do together, to share online. We ask you to agree to having your name linked to photos and videos in these posts.

I understand that images on websites and printed material can be viewed throughout the world and not just in Ireland and that some overseas countries may not provide the same level of protection to the rights of individuals as EU/Irish legislation provides.
